Places to visit from the Rock Beechenhurst Lodge

Just under 4 miles from the Rock is Beechenhurst Lodge it is set in the forest on the former site of Speech House Colliery. It consists of a cafe and small shop where maps and tourist information can be obtained and a good cafe. From Beechenhurst lodge the famous Sculpture Trail and less famous Speculation trail can be explored. There is a charge for the car park but once the ticket is bought you can use it for visiting other attractions in the forest - See our Drive and explore guide of the central forest for deatils. The Sculpture trail is 4 miles long but there are short cuts available to shorten the route if needed. This trail is well marked and not too hilly and even if you are not interested in the sculptures it offers some great forest views
