Many people looking for B&B in Lydney enjoy staying at the Rock which offers 4 star Family Run Bed and breakfast accomodation. It is an easy 10 mile drive from Lydney. Three rooms are dog friendly and 4 are dog free and suitable for those with pet allergies.

Our guests feel that Lydney offers little for the tourist however just outside the town are some very interesting places to visit.

Lydney Harbour is just a mile outside town on the road to Chepstow. The Harbour Lies on a tidal stretch of the Severn and walking out to the end of the jetty will definately "Blow the Cob webs away". There is a short 3/4 mile walk from the harbour along the embankment where there are visitor information boards pointing out the sighst to be seen on the other side of the Severn ( laminated copies of the walk are available for loan from us).

A little further along the road to chepstow is Lydney Park which ws once the site of and Iron Agr hill fort whach was occupuied until 250 Bc when the romans created an iron Ore mine inside the hillfort until the 4th ventury when it was replaced by a Roma Temple complex.

The Lydney park estate now houses formal gardens with secluded wooded valleys and Lakes. Taurus crafts are also located here which are a collection of craft shops and a great cafe.
