Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Walks
Wyewalk Walking holidays offers self guide walking breaks in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean from its base at "The Rock" near Symonds Yat. The Rock is family run 4 star accommodation and is located in an area of outstandiung natural beauty just a 20 minute stroll from Symonds Yat Rock and just off the long distance footpath "The Wysis Way". Other long distance footpaths such as Offas Dyke path, the Wye Valley Walk and Gloucestershire Way are all an easy walk away. Wye walk offers self guided circular walks in the Forest of Dean and into the Wye Valley from the front door of the Rock B&B into the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire.
After a walk covering three counties there is a Hot tub for guest use to relive those aching legs
Chris and Lindy have Documented many of their own walks in the Wye valley and Forest of Dean all acessible from The Rock without the use of a car . These walks are regularly walked to ensure the directions are still current and up to date walks vary in length from one to 12/14 miles and usually have a pub half way round! and additional walks are continuously being added

To the north lies excellent walking around Symonds Yat Rock
To the east lies the Wye Valley and walks to Monmouth thorugh deep forest and back along the Wye valley Walk and back over the Biblins bridge and back to the Rock B&B
To the west lies the Central forest of Dean
This gives a wide variety of walks with out using a car and if you are willing to drive the walking opportunities are endless within a 10 mile radius
Walking here is an all year round activity from the Rock
In Spring , the forest is full of bluebells and Wild garlic
In Summer, the wye shimmers in the sunlight, with fantastic views from many viewpoints
In the Autumn the reds and Golds of the changing leaves are spectacular
In the Winter, the crisp frost crunches underfoot. there are great views with the mist laying low in the valleys.

The current Guest accommodation has 4 rooms in total two twin and two double. All rooms have ensuite shower rooms and Forest Views. Hearty breakfasts are served using Organic Milk, Freerange eggs, locally sourced and produced award winning sausages . Vegetarian alternatives are a speciallity. All rooms have hospitality trays and there is a lock up facility for bikes and a large secure car park.
If more than 4 rooms are required then additional accommodation can be arranged with other local guest houses
All rooms at the "Rock B&B" have direct acess from the car park and there is a large Lounge/breakfast room with wood burner for you to meet up with friends or enjoy an evening meal
The accommodation is Ideal for walking clubs and groups who can take all four rooms as the lounge breakfast room and Hot tub are then for the sole use of the group. Many clubs enjoy their evening meal in front of the woodburner and one group even held a birthday party here. the garden is also available for your use
