Beechenhurst Lodge - The Sculpture trail
Beechenhurst Lodge is just under 4 miles from the Rock, it is set in the forest on the former site of Speech House Colliery. It consists of a cafe and small shop where maps and tourist information can be obtained.
From Beechenhurst Lodge the famous Sculpture Trail and less famous Speculation trail can be explored. There is a charge for the car park but once the ticket is bought you can use it for visiting other attractions in the forest - See our Drive and explore guide of the central forest for details. Also we have guides and Maps of the Sculpture trail for loan
The Sculpture trail is 4 miles long but there are short cuts available to shorten the route if needed. This trail is well marked and not too hilly and even if you are not interested in the sculptures it offers some great forest views with a cup of tea at he end of the walk at the cafe.
Since the closure of the tourist information offices in the Forest Beechenhurst lodge is one of the few places where tourist information can be picked up
We recommend allowing 2- 3 hours for a visit here.
