Symonds Yat B&B
Behold, Symonds Yat - A beautiful picturesque village in The Forest of Dean, perfectly positioned on the River Wye in between the borders of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire. The name is said to come from Robert Symonds, a 17th-century sheriff of Herefordshire and "yat" as an old word for a gate or pass.
Its reputation precedes itself as one of the finest tourist destinations in the English countryside and is a perfect escape from day-to-day life. If you're looking for that idyllic river scenery and woodland expanse, then Symonds Yat is a truly comforting place to visit.
With our superb accommodation situated in The Forest of Dean, we're right on the front door of this picturesque village.
Symonds Yat is home to a Butterfly Zoo, and some impressive mazes to get lost in.
There's some good local pubs to visit for a drink and good cuisine, and some B&Bs and guest houses too. In the summer, Symonds Yat can offer the liberation you've been looking for; a true home of the heart. It's even better if you cycle, because along with The Wye Valley, this is one of the finest places to cycle in England. But if you don't, not to worry; take a trip on the river cruises and enjoy the wildlife. At the right time of year and a little luck, you see the famous nesting peregrine falcons.
You're in for a real treat. And we are happy to inform you of other tourist areas you can check out when you stay with us.
