The Rock B&B offers friendly family run award winning accommodation on the outskirts of Coleford in the Royal Forest of Dean near Symonds Yat Rock. The Rock is a great location for those seeking a short break in some inspirational countryside with views to the forest at the front and spectacular far reaching vistas to the rear.
The Bed and Breakfast is Located at 600ft in the National Forest Park and is also on the edge of the Wye Valley ANOB (Area of Outstanding National Beauty) a short walk from one of the finest viewpoints in southern England. It provides very easy access all the sights and activities in both the Forest and the Wye Valley. Making it a special place to stay.
An Inn since the late 1500’s, The Rock is now a private house offering bed and breakfast in contemporary styled purpose built hotel standard en-suite rooms. The B&B rooms are in two annexes to the owner’s house. This arrangement allows you to come and go as you please as each room has direct access to the outside.
The Rock B&B is one of the few Accommodation providers in the Forest of Dean to offer a hot tub for guests use. Because of its heritage as a former pub it has a large private car park and as The Rock is popular with cyclists and Mountain Bikers we offer Bike Storage facilities.

The Forest towns of Coleford, Cinderford and Lydney, are within easy driving distance from the Rock B&B, as are the historic market and tourist towns of Monmouth and Ross on Wye. The Rock is also popular with guests attending weddings at Clearwell Castle and various venues at Symonds Yat East and even Flanesford Priory. A huge number of activities close by including canoeing, climbing, shooting, Goape, pedalabikeaway family and downhill cycle trails.
Wildlife abounds here a survey a few years ago showed the woods opposite the accommodation to have one of the highest density of deer and wild boar in the entire forest. Popular with bird watchers is the RSPB peregrine viewpoint a 20 minute walk through the woods at Symonds Yat. Experts are there Easter to October to show you the peregrines and if you are a keen bird watcher they can tell you whats in the whole area.
The Rock is popular group accommodation, as the rock can sleep 13 preople (14 at a pinch). The breakast room is available for groups to relax eat take aways etc.
